This wasn’t supposed to happen.
As we’ve seen in this space repeatedly, modern-day academia is a lost cause. It’s filled with crackpots who have long ago forsaken common sense to embrace liberal lunacy.
So it’s a welcome surprise when someone from our modern education system bucks the trend and offers a statement against interest.
Especially when that person works for Harvard University.
That’s right. Hahvahd.
An African-American econ prof at that school was so upset about cops killing blacks that he decided to conduct some research to determine just how bad the problem is.
Boy was he surprised when he got his answer.
Much to the dismay of Professor Ronaldo G. Fryer, Jr., there’s no evidence that cops are more likely to shoot black dudes than white dudes.
Fryter studied more than 1,300 police shootings in 10 major police departments across the country. While he did find that blacks were more likely to be touched or handcuffed, he didn’t find any evidence that cops are trigger-happy on Negroes.
In officer-involved shootings in these 10 cities, officers were more likely to fire their weapons without having first been attacked when the suspects were white. Black and white civilians involved in police shootings were equally likely to have been carrying a weapon. Both of these results undercut the idea that the police wield lethal force with racial bias.
And with that, another left-wing myth bites the dust.
