People stopped shopping at Target because they don’t want to have to put a coat on.
That’s the sentiment of the company’s crackpot CEO, Brian Cornell, anyway.
In a recent Wall Street Journal interview, Cornell offered this assessment of why his company’s sales are dropping like a politician’s trousers at a beauty contest: “It’s been a very wet and cold start to the year and it’s reflected in our sales. We haven’t seen anything from a structural standpoint that gives us pause.”
He doesn’t want to admit that normal people might not be shopping at Target right now because they don’t want their little girls to wee-wee near Bubba Joe and his 5-o’clock shadow since the company adopted a “use whatever bathroom you like because gender is so last century” policy.
Target is alienating middle America. That’s not going to help sales or the fortunes of the company’s investors.
The stock has dropped about $20 per share in the past month.
That’s a hefty price to pay just to make a positive statement about trannies.
