Newt Gingrich believes that the vacancy left on the Supreme Court by the dearly departed Antonin Scalia “guarantees” that people who support gun rights will vote this year.
During a discussion about the inevitable battle that’s brewing in Washington between President Obama and the U.S. Senate, Gingrich said that the Senate could just ignore any of the President’s nominees.
Then, Greta asked him about the political ramifications of the contest.
“It guarantees that every person who cares about the Second Amendment turns out to vote,” he said.
Gingrich said that once gun rights enthusiasts realize Scalia was the “swing vote” who defended the Second Amendment, they’ll turn out in droves.
