Hugh Hewitt threw down a warning for GOP senators.
Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union yesterday, the conservative radio host said that any Republican senator who doesn’t block an Obama appointee to replace the dearly departed Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia will be voted out of office.
“If I were a Republican — whether the Majority Leader all the way down to the county clerk — and every nominee I would say no hearings. No votes. Lame ducks don’t make lifetime appointments,” he said.
“There is no precedent,” Hewitt continued. “And I will simply add, the base will not forgive anyone. Senators will lose their jobs if they block the blockade. There should be an absolute blockade on this.”
