Ann Coulter has a warning that Republicans in Washington should take seriously.
Reacting to the news of Scalia’s death, Coulter said that “the only reason these craven coward Republicans in Washington” would reject an Obama nominee to replace him is because Donald J. Trump is running for president.
She said that if Senate Republicans “screw us over one more time, on something as big as this, Trump gets another ten million voters right there.”
Coulter also talked briefly about the history of left-wing judicial activism. She noted that the court was “boring” for about the first 200 years of our great republic.
“And then, the Left figured out that — not by any Constitutional framework, but simply by the fact that the Supreme Court gets the last word, they decide cases — liberals realized, ‘Oh, shoot, we can’t get Americans to agree with our crazy ideas, but hey, I bet we could get five Justices to agree!’” she said.
Coulter said that progressives were able to transform the judiciary into “a sort of super-legislature of elderly lawyers” who began “suddenly discovering non-existent rights in the Constitution.”
Sadly, that’s true.
