If you want to have a romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day, make sure you first clear it with your local vegan brigade.
That’s because the miserable cranks who infest that movement live to make things difficult for normal people.
Case in point: Award-winning chef Mark Dixon says he’s received so many death threats from the “meat is murder” cabal that he had to cancel a Valentine’s Day foie gras dish at The Kings Arms restaurant in Fleggburgh, England.
For those of you who get your news from The Daily Show, foie gras is a delicacy made from goose or duck liver.
Also, the bubble-heads blasted the restaurant with fake reservations so that the business would lose money.
Keep in mind, though, this is going on in Merry Old England, where the culture war is over and religion lost. That’s the kind of thing that happens to a country when it divests itself from good religion.
Of course, the country still retains Good Friday as a national holiday. They want to keep the parts of Christianity that makes their lives easier.
“We would like to apologize to all of our customers who haven’t been able to use our phone lines and social media pages today due to the Vegan Activists harassment over Foie Gras,” Dixon wrote on his Facebook page.
“We have listened to every opinion but when people go as far as ringing our staff, constantly, calling them murderers and death threats we class this as harassment and also inhumane to humans on the vegans behalf, and completely disgusting and unacceptable.”
“To stop this unfair behavior on our staff we have decided to remove the Foie Gras from the menu and apologize to all of our customers who enjoy our parfait dish. The police have also been informed about our phone lines and social media comments so we should be back to normal action asap.”
I wish him the very best of luck at getting back to “normal” when there’s that many jackholes opposed to his business.
